The Hunterdon Mohawks Lacrosse Club continues to witness significant growth and support - from both volunteers and players - making us one of the largest youth organizations in Hunterdon County!
The purpose of the Hunterdon Mohawks Lacrosse Program is to introduce, promote, develop, and instruct boys and girls in the game of lacrosse, so that they develop a life-long love for this sport. Our experienced coaches will teach girls and boys how to work hard, how to become fundamentally sound and to learn love playing the game of lacrosse!
The Mohawk girls program has three teams - a grade 2/3/4 team, grade 5/6 team and a grade 7/8 team. Among our coaching staff we have a former Division 1 coach, Level 1 Certified Coaches and former collegiate lacrosse players.
When a youth player learns to love the game of lacrosse, becomes fundamentally sound and has a desire to play the game at a higher level, we proactively introduce, through our partnerships with "select" lacrosse clubs in the area, higher level opportunities to help them advance their skills and knowledge of the game. Exposing our youth players to other styles of coaching, knowledge and experience in other "select" clubs will help them to become a well-rounded player as they prepare to play at the high school.
The philosophy of the Hunterdon Mohawks Lacrosse Club has been incredibly successful, as witnessed by the successes of both the boys and girls teams at North Hunterdon High School. The girls were the Hunterdon, Warren, Sussex County Champions - three years in a row. Nearly all of the girls on this team are alumni of our Mohawk program!
New Jersey Junior Lacrosse League (NJJLL)
The NJJLL is the officially recognized youth lacrosse league for boys affiliated with US Lacrosse, and its local chapter, the NJ Lacrosse Foundation. The league is governed by it's own executive committee and operates by an adopted set of rules and regulations. It is the mission of the NJJLL to promote and develop excellence, sportsmanship, participation and fun in the game of youth lacrosse and, consistent with these goals, to grow the sport of lacrosse.
New Jersey Girls Lacrosse Association (JGLA)
We are New Jersey Junior Girls Lacrosse Association - over 5000 girls strong. Our aim is to instill a love of the game of lacrosse through a solid foundation of skills, positive coaching and competitive games for girls throughout New Jersey.
Positive Coaching Alliance
Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) is a nonprofit organization based at Stanford University with the mission to transform youth sports so sports can transform youth. PCA was created to transform the culture of youth sports to give all young athletes the opportunity for a positive, character-building experience.
We have three national goals:
To replace the "win-at-all-cost" model of coaching with the "Double-Goal Coach" who wants to win but has a second, more important, goal of using sports to teach life lessons;
To teach youth sports organization leaders how to create an organizational culture in which Honoring the Game is the norm; and
To spark and fuel a "social epidemic" of Positive Coaching that will sweep this country.
There are many people in this nation who want to change the culture of youth sports, but they do not feel equipped to do so. Positive Coaching Alliance has developed practical tools to change the culture of youth sports and is making them available to coaches, parents, league organizers and others who will fire this movement.
